There may be challenges that have gone on for some time and you are ready for something to be different or it may be something new that feels as though it came out of nowhere. It could be conflicts at work or in your relationship or even with family/friends. When long term stress or sadness occurs, sometimes it feels like a constant state of discontent or being overwhelmed all together.
We can benefit from counseling when we just can’t seem to handle things as well as we once did. It seems like one thing after the next just keeps piling up. There can be triggers such as losing someone we cared about, an accident, moving or a new job. You may already know what your trigger is, but if not we are here to help!
Schemas or patterns in our lives sometimes can be difficult for us to see. They may be a negative cognition such as “I’m not good enough” or “What’s wrong with me?” When these long term patterns are ingrained in us, we typically make decisions based on what we are used to, not necessarily what is uncomfortable (change). We can help you identify what schema’s are present in your life and how to work toward a healthier you! Transformation is a commitment and investment to a better you!

Step 1- Schedule. If you are ready to begin, you can discuss your preferences and schedule your consultation time. During your free phone consultation or when you schedule your first session, you provide your email address and will receive the online intake forms and assessment to complete. If you have difficulty with technology your therapist will help you with the forms at your initial meeting. You can book either a free phone consultation or your first session right from this website.
Step 2- Paperwork. We encourage you to take time out for the initial assessments. This should take at most 20 minutes of your time. This will give us a baseline and a way to measure your progress. We will also send additional assessments throughout the Core Transformation, these will be directly related to your self-report. We encourage you to take time out to reflect your thoughts and feelings which will help with direction and progress. We know paperwork doesn’t sound fun, but we send this electronically before the first appointment so you don’t have to use your in-person time to complete.
Step 3- Attend. We will work around your schedule to see what is a good fit for you. The private consultation time will be directly fit to your specific needs. This outline will give you a great starting point, but does not mean that everything will be solved immediately. After the first several months, we can work with you to best fit your needs going forward examples include possible group consultations or a change in frequency in visits. Therapy is a commitment and an investment to a better you!

The first meeting will be a collaboration with your therapist to share a little about yourself. A series of questions will help determine areas of your life that may be causing distress. Any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering can simply be "passed". Sometimes going back to this information later can be helpful in working on the whole picture. Together you will identify goals and begin to measure steps forward!
Prior to the first session you will be sent a brief assessment via email to complete along with confidentiality (HIPAA) forms for your signature. It will help you to get started and be ready for the first day!
The majority of private time is considered individual therapy. Sometimes an outside perspective can help us identify challenges in a different way. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, we can move your thoughts and feelings from being "stuck". Trauma Resolution models can also help to move, the once time consuming process, more quickly toward change.
Your time is reserved for you, please be on time and call to cancel 24 hours in advance if needed. Please discuss extenuating circumstances with your therapist.
Family Therapy Session
Some of your private time may be considered family therapy if you attend with others besides you. You may have been trying to get your loved one to counseling for some time or struggling with communicating together, family/couples sessions can be helpful for many reasons. This time is helpful to discuss prior to the time with the therapist to develop your goals for the time together. This will help to make the time together a success and your loved ones are much more willing to participate again.
