Do you take my insurance?
Insurance companies typically require diagnosis and treatment updates to determine your eligibility. In order to protect your confidentiality and be in charge of your treatment, clients can chose to use our private pay option and discuss the private consultation time. You can pay using a health savings account and flexible spending account through your insurance company by accessing our services as your out of network benefits.
The private consultation time can typically be reimbursed as an out of network benefit and sometimes even count toward reaching your deductible. Each insurance policy is different, therefore it is important to understand your specific policy. Receipts with service codes can be provided for you to submit for reimbursement.
Ask your insurance company “What is my reimbursement rate for out of network Mental Health benefits?” to find out what percentage you are covered and they mail you the reimbursement directly.
The challenging part is finding someone you want to begin to share your story with, once you have done that, it is determining what fee may be covered. Please let your therapist know so they can print or email you the information you need at each session or on a monthly basis.
Do you have a sliding scale?
No one will be turned away based on your inability to pay. Our sliding scale forms are based on income. Please contact us directly for more information.
What types of therapy do you use?
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) the foundations of our lives can change overtime. This helps us to identify how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected. Once we are able to see patterns that have been created, we can begin to make changes in our daily lives. Certified trauma informed treatment can be a focus in treatment which includes Progressive Counting and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which improve symptoms of PTSD and trauma. In this treatment model there is a focus on shifting thinking from past traumatic memories and aligning memories with more adaptive information processing. At times we encounter a current situation that reminds us of the past that can make moving forward more difficult. These are proven, researched based, step by step techniques which can alleviate symptoms and barriers in our daily life. Ask us for more detailed information on how this works!
Can I choose my therapist?
Absolutely! We recognize that each person is unique and each of our therapists have specialized talents. If you find someone that you’d like to work with, let us know. We do our best to set you up with your first appointment as soon as possible.
What if I can't make My in person consultation time?
There is no cost to cancel or reschedule an appointment as long as you do so 24 hours in advance. After that time, the full cost is due. This is due to your 45 minute session time being allotted to only you. We feel time is very valuable!
Where is your office?
The location, 374 Delaware Avenue, is easily accessible from the surrounding area of Buffalo. There is plenty of metered parking on Delaware and Trinity Street. You can sign up for an app Buffalo Roam to make parking simple! You can also use quarters during the day and we have a supply just in case! There is Free parking after 5pm everyday and on weekends.
Upon entering the building, you will come across a key-less entry system. You will need to unlock the door with the suite number listed (207) and then via stairs or elevator will be welcomed on the second floor. We have a beautiful view of Delaware Avenue!
