Is the Free Consultation really free?

Yes! We understand the importance of finding the right fit and we want to help you with this process!

As soon as you book your free consultation the request is sent to your provider for approval. Once approved, we send you a few questions through our HIPAA compliant client portal. We ask that you complete these questions prior to the appointment to make the most use of the time with your potential therapist. During the consultation we will review your questions, ask what is bringing you to therapy, share about our specialty areas and discuss billing/fees. We typically limit these appointment to 15 minutes to offer them to as many clients as possible.

HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?

You may have heard of a new law called the No Surprises Billing Act that has been passed that allows everyone receiving medical or mental health care and is not billing insurance for these services has the right to receive what’s called a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services before they take place. At Core Mental Health Counseling, we have always been committed to being upfront and transparent with what you can expect to pay for therapy so that there are never any surprises when it comes to cost. And with this new law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing. The Good Faith Estimate that we provide you would project a dollar amount of the cost of therapy over the next 12 months based on your anticipated frequency of attending therapy. You can request this at any time; let us know either verbally or in writing if you would like to receive a Good Faith Estimate for future cost of services. Our session cost is $150 and many clients get reimbursement using out of network benefits. Please contact us with any questions or click here for more information on the Good Faith Estimate.

Will my insurance Cover therapy?

Although we do not accept insurance as in-network providers, we can help you look into your insurance benefits to see what is covered for “out-of-network” therapy. You can ask your insurance carrier “what are my out-of-network mental health benefits?” Often insurance will cover a percentage of your therapy costs and you can submit for reimbursement after your sessions. We will provide you a monthly statement which contains all of the information that insurance requires for you to submit for reimbursement. We provide a private-pay option and discounted sliding scale for clients to access our services. We do not submit documentation to your insurance company; what you share is confidential. This allows us to focus our time on you and avoid hours of time with insurance companies.

Need help looking into your benefits to see what is covered? Call our office and speak with our billing specialist at 716-249-4096.

Do you have a sliding scale?

Yes! No one will be turned away based on your inability to pay.  Our sliding scale forms are based on family size and income. Please contact us directly for more information and to apply. This application is part of our intake process and can be emailed or mailed to you directly. The sliding scale is based off of Federal Guidelines for Poverty. We have an electronic form for you to complete and provide proof of income.

How can You help?

Maybe trouble sleeping, difficulty with focus, problems with appetite, sadness, feelings of worry? Flashbacks or nightmares from a bad experience?  You or someone you love may be struggling with anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or other mental health symptoms.  We believe these things can impact everyone, sometimes we all need a tune-up. We can help you shift your thoughts, feelings or help improve your environment and reactions to regain balance in your life. We want to help you!

What type of therapy do you provide?

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) the foundations of our lives can change overtime.  This helps us to identify how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected.  Once we are able to see patterns that have been created, we can begin to make changes in our daily lives.  Certified trauma informed treatment can be a focus in treatment which includes Progressive Counting and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which improve symptoms of PTSD and trauma.  In this treatment model there is a focus on shifting thinking from past traumatic memories and aligning memories with more adaptive information processing.  At times we encounter a current situation that reminds us of the past that can make moving forward more difficult.  These are proven, researched based, step by step techniques which can alleviate symptoms and barriers in our daily life. Ask us for more detailed information on how this works!

Can I choose my therapist?

Absolutely! Although not all of our therapists are accepting new clients, we recognize that each person is unique and each of our therapists have specialty areas. We do our best to set you up with your first appointment as soon as possible. Just a reminder, you can also schedule a free consultation to talk with the therapist to see if it is a good fit.
